Vehicles

Model S and Model X production ended at Fremont in 2026. Model 3, Model Y, Cybertruck, and Semi remain in production; Cybercab and next-gen Roadster are not yet volume products.

SpaceXAI is SpaceX’s AI unit/brand (former xAI), not a fifth Musk company. SpaceX acquired xAI on February 2, 2026; in May–July 2026 it was reorganized/rebranded as SpaceXAI.

Elon is the founder. Also independent: its own company, beside the others.

Elon Musk FoundationNonprofit · not a company

The philanthropy: grants for renewable energy, space exploration, pediatric research, education, and safe artificial intelligence (AI).

America PAC is an active super PAC. DOGE was a temporary U.S. initiative (January 20, 2025 – July 4, 2026) and has ended. Roles and spending, not businesses Elon owns.

How the structure got here

Elon starts the Elon Musk Foundation.
2002
SpaceX is founded.
2004
Elon leads Tesla's Series A funding round; he later becomes CEO.
2016
Neuralink is co-founded and The Boring Company is founded.
2022
Elon acquires Twitter as a personal purchase; it is renamed X in 2023.
2023
xAI is founded as a separate AI company.
January 2025
Elon joins DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, as a co-lead.
March 2025
xAI acquires X, putting the app and the AI company under one roof.
May 2026
xAI is dissolved into SpaceX and becomes SpaceXAI, the AI unit.
June 2026
SpaceX goes public on Nasdaq as SPCX, reporting three segments: Space, Connectivity, and AI.
2026 July 4
U.S. DOGE Service Temporary Organization sunsets.
